The Tanner Times

Parents,

Happy last week of school! Here are the things you need to know for this week.....

*Desks - Desks will be cleaned out at the end of the day on Tuesday. Please make sure your child brings in a backpack for all of their treasures. I will be keeping some items in their tubs if I know they are planning on being in my class for 2nd grade. Please let me know if your child is not planning on being in my class next year.

*Auction - Our class auction is on Wednesday, May 22nd. Your kiddos have been working hard throughout the year to earn Dojo points. Those points are about to be spent on lots of fun prizes. Make sure your child has a backpack and an extra bag for all of their loot.

*Game Day - Game day is also on Wednesday, May 22nd. The last half of the day is dedicated to games of all shapes and sizes. Students can bring in toys and games to play with, but they are not allowed to bring in electronic devices. Also, please make sure they don't bring in anything too big, because they will need space in their bags for their auction prizes.

*Auction Snacks - Please send in a shareable snack for the auction. I like to have a mini snack table that each child can select a few items from. You have until Wednesday morning to send in all auction items.

*Login Info Sheet - I am sending home a sheet today that has their login information for Blooket, Xtramath, Classlink  (MNPS sponsored software like Lexia and I-Ready), and other programs they use at school. Feel free to use on days when you're stuck inside!

*Thursday - Thursday is only a half-day of school for students.

The Tanner Times

Parents,

I hope you all have had a great week! Some of the following information needed to be sent out prior to Monday, so I'm doing my blog post a little earlier than normal. Here's the latest news....

*Auction Day Snacks - The last request for the auction will be to send in one of your child's favorite snacks to share. I set up a little snack table and let them choose a couple of things to eat or take home with them. These are snacks to share, so prepackaged items are super helpful. This may be the most popular part of the auction!

*Library Books - All library books are due on Monday, May 6th. Overdue notices will be sent home on Friday, May 10th.

*Yearbooks - Yearbooks will be sent home Friday, May 10th.

*Field Day - Field day is now scheduled for Friday, May 10th. We will not be having pizza on that day. More information on lunch plans for field day will be sent out next week.

*2nd Grade Materials - Please don't purchase the 2nd grade box of materials if your child is planning on being in my class next year. Here are the only materials they will need....

__ paper towels (2 rolls)
__ crayons (Size? If your child likes to color go for the big box!)
__ 3 wide ruled composition notebooks (I'm color blind, so the color doesn't matter to me.)
__ 2 boxes of pre-sharpened pencils

*I plan on keeping their pencil boxes and headphones in their tubs for next year, unless I know they will not be in my class. You can purchase a new pencil box and headphones if you would like, but it will not be necessary.

*Poke'mon Cards Needed - In honor of March Mathness at PPE I have created some math games that involve Poke'mon cards. However, I don't currently own very many of those cards. I grew up collecting baseball, basketball, and football cards, so Poke'mon is relatively new to me. I am asking for Poke'mon card donations to fuel the different math games we'll be doing in class. The kiddos (and their teacher) are pumped about some of the math games we'll be doing with them.

*Auction Items - I am collecting new and gently used items for the class auction. Keep me in mind if you're during any purging over the next several weeks. As long as a child would want it I will take it! Feel free to reach out to me if you're ever wondering if something would be good for the auction.
